Carlo Bruneau

Carlo is a seasoned executive with a strong passion for sports and an extensive background in amateur sports. Currently serving as the Executive Director of the Calgary Minor Soccer Association, he has dedicated over 15+ years of his career to advancing the sport and supporting young athletes.

One of Carlo's primary motivations is to develop community partnerships and establish commercial connections to benefit of the community. He understands the importance of collaboration and leveraging resources to enhance the growth and development of sport within the Calgary community.

However, Carlo's true driving factor lies in his commitment to developing the next generation of leaders. He firmly believes that sports provide an excellent platform for teaching important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, resilience, and leadership. By creating a supportive and nurturing environment, sport can empower young athletes to become well-rounded individuals who can excel not only in sports but also in their personal and professional lives.

Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Carlo and his family made the move to Calgary in 2021. They have embraced the city and all that it has to offer, enjoying every moment of their new City.

Having an innate curiosity and a bias for action has always served me well and continues to on a daily basis. Eager to connect and network with like-minded individuals who have the right energy.


Whitney Ferguson

Whitney is on our External Communication Standing Committee.

Experienced communications professional with eight years of experience. Excels at creating engaging written and print content for diverse audiences and forging relationships to increase the profile of the organization. Holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary and a diploma in public relations from the University of Victoria.


Ian White

Ian White is one of Calgary’s most experienced broadcast journalists. He is the host of CTV News at 5 and contributes to the organization’s content as an anchor, reporter, producer and editor.

Over his more than thirty years at CTV he has interviewed hundreds of newsmakers – from prime ministers to premiers to writers to athletes to musicians to plenty of ordinary people. He’s also helped provide live coverage of several municipal, provincial and federal elections.

A father of three, many of his favourite experiences involved his kids’ hockey, dance and other sports activities. Ian believes strongly that sports and activity can form a foundation of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing for everyone.
