Calgary, AB – Sport Calgary will host its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, April 22, bringing together members, partners, and community leaders to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future of sport in Calgary.
The AGM will begin at 11:00 AM MST and will include the organization’s annual business meeting, 2025 annual review, and a featured panel discussion.
A highlight of this year’s AGM will be the announcement of the new President of Sport Calgary, marking an important leadership transition for the organization and the broader sport community.
The event will also feature the presentation of the State of Sport in Calgary report, delivered by Stone Olafson. The report will provide insights into trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping sport participation and delivery across the city.
Following the presentation, attendees will hear from a panel of sector leaders in a discussion on the future of sport in Calgary. The panel will explore how the community can respond to evolving needs, strengthen collaboration, and ensure sport remains accessible and impactful for all Calgarians.

- Ian Fleming, Director of Recreation & Social Programs, City of Calgary
- Adam Kingsmill, Paralympic athlete, Para ice hockey
- The incoming President of Sport Calgary
The discussion will be moderated by Ian White, CTV.
“Sport continues to play a vital role in building active, healthy, connected communities,” said Jeff Booke, Chair of the Sport Calgary Board. “This year’s AGM is an opportunity not only to reflect on our progress, but to welcome our new President, and align our efforts around the actions needed to support the future of sport in Calgary.”
The AGM is open to Sport Calgary members and community stakeholders and serves as a key platform for engagement, governance, and shared direction. The meeting will include approval of financial statements, board elections, and updates on organizational priorities.
