The abuse that occurs in sport, including sexual abuse and the grooming behavior that precedes it, as well as physical abuse, destroys the positive impact of sport and causes immense harm to victims and those around them. Consequently, your sport organizations has a critical obligation to establish and maintain robust systems that prevent abuse and effectively respond to any conduct that poses a risk to players and athletes. 

A healthy culture is one that actively promotes positive attitudes, values, and beliefs.
Acting with integrity and instilling team values into everyday actions and conversations is what contributed to a positive thriving culture and no doubt also a leading, winning edge.

The culture shown every day in the behaviours of your participants and administration is crucial to minimizing the potential of maltreatment.

This session will provide tools to support the continuity of club values from the board room to the behaviours on the field of play.

 The Calgary Canucks Junior A Hockey Club are excited to announce the return of Battle of Alberta: An Evening with Legends with our next edition being held on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Join the Calgary Canucks as they host two legendary icons of the Battle of Alberta, Mike Vernon of the Calgary Flames and Grant Fuhr of the Edmonton Oilers, as they relive a landmark rivalry in Canadian sports history on the site where it was born. The Battle of Alberta became a tectonic clash between the Flames and the Oilers in the 1980s that forged legacies and created hockey heroes.

Please join us, as we run in and around the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo bright and early on Sunday September 22, 2024 for the annual "Race For Conservation"! You can choose to run the 10 mile (16km) course solo, round up your crew and race the course as a relay (2-4 members), or take in the sights with our new 4km solo run!

The in-person event starts and finishes on St. Patrick's Island at "The Rise", which is our very own party site for the Wild Run! All runners taking part in the relay will also transition their relay legs at this location, making it a great location for family and friends to cheer you on! The 4km solo run and first leg of the 10 mile course run through the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, but ALL participants have free access to the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo after the race!

Get ready for Beat Beethoven + Phil In the Park! For the seventh year running, Calgary Phil and Run Calgary have teamed up to bring you an afternoon of music and movement — this time at Prince’s Island Park on Sunday Sept 8 at 2pm.

The annual RBC Race for the Kids is returning to Heritage Park! This family-friendly day includes a 6-km run along scenic pathways overlooking the Glenmore Reservoir, a pancake breakfast and a whole lot of fun.

Registration also includes a race T-shirt, an environmentally friendly completion medal for each participant, free parking, all-day access to Heritage Park, and more.

You can also choose to complete a shorter circuit inside the park – this is a favourite among families with little ones – or sign up as a virtual participant and make RBC Race your own!

The Love is Love Mile is back in 2024! This race takes places on closed downtown streets along the parade route (in reverse!) before the Pride Parade begins. Like all Run Calgary events, this is an inclusive event and everyone is welcome.

Welcome to the Calgary Fire Department Run with a Recruiter and Information Session!

Come join us on Tue July 30th 2024 at 0700hrs-0900hrs for a fun and informative event at the Edworthy Park south parking lot at 5050 Spruce Dr SW.

This is your chance to meet with our recruiters, learn about the exciting opportunities available at the Calgary Fire Department, and participate in a workout to get a taste of what it's like to be a firefighter.

Run with a Recruiter is on tour until the end of September and this session will be a run and/or field training at Elliston Park located at 1827 68 Street SE.

Participants will be greeted at the west parking lot off 60 street S.E., and waivers will be completed at 0530 hours and the session will commence at 0600 hours.

Swing into action for a charity golf tournament like no other! Join us for a day of fun on the green, supporting a great cause every step of the way.
