Disc golf, also known as frisbee golf, is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc at a target and it is played using rules similar to ball golf. The sport is usually played on a course with 9 or 18 targets (chain baskets or posts) and players complete a hole by throwing a disc from a tee toward the targets, throwing again from where the previous throw landed, until the target is reached. Players seek to complete each hole in the lowest number of total throws.
The Calgary Disc Golf Club (CDGC) was founded in 2010. Since that time, the CDGC has seen the sport grow rapidly and we have successfully partnered with community stakeholders to see a number of new courses installed in Calgary, along with providing lessons/clinics, and hosting our own tournaments and leagues.
Join our passionate and experienced instructors to learn about how to play disc golf, disc types, disc flight, putting, backhand throws, forehand throws, how to play a round, where to get discs, how to find courses, etiquette etc.
