All Sport One Community Brings Two Free Sports Days to Dover Kids

On July 29 and 31, Sport Calgary’s All Sport One Community program brought the joy of sport to the heart of the Dover neighborhood at the Dover Beach Courts with a free two-day event designed to get kids active and having fun.

A total of 36 children registered to participate in a day filled with skill-building, teamwork, and sunshine. In the mornings, kids hit the sand for Beach Volleyball sessions coached by the Calgary Beach Volleyball Association. For many of the participants, this was their first time ever playing beach volleyball, an exciting new experience that sparked curiosity, confidence, and a lot of smiles.

In the afternoons, the energy continued with Soccer sessions led by coaches from East Side Memorial, giving kids a chance to work on their footwork, teamwork, and game play.

The warm, sunny weather created the perfect backdrop for two days of fun and connection. Families joined in the celebration at the end of the final day with a free Spolumbos BBQ  provided by us at Sport Calgary. As a special keepsake, each child received a custom beach volleyball bucket hat from the Calgary Beach Volleyball Association.

The event showcased the power of community and the importance of accessible sport opportunities for youth — a core mission of Sport Calgary’s All Sport One Community initiative.
