Featuring a main stage performance sponsored by RISE UP, followed by a weekend long Sport Festival presented by Sport Calgary - connecting the city’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes competing in Beijing with grassroots sport and recreational enthusiasts in the heart of downtown Calgary.
There will be exciting sport demos on both Saturday and Sunday by local skating groups: Calgary Speed Skating Association, Golden Edge Skating Academy, Calgary Synchronized Skating Club, and Olympia Figure Skating.
We are the official “Sport Curator” for Chinook Blast.

12:00 - 13:00: Figure skating presented by Olympia Skating Club
13:30 - 14:15: Speed skating presented by Calgary Speed Skating Association
14:30 - 15:30: Synchronized skating presented by Calgary Synchronized Skating Club
15:45 - 16:45: Figure skating - National team demonstration & Practice presented by Golden Edge Skating Academy
17:00-20:00: 80's Themed Family Skate Party: A nod to the 88's Olympics

With the '22 Beijing Olympics right around the corner we’re getting into the mood by remembering Calgary’s own exciting winter hosting the world’s best athletes. Revisit the exhilarating times by joining us for a family skate party with all the best 80s hits provided by DJ Spice and Aaron the DJ on the RISE UP Stage! The music will get you skating, dancing, moving and grooving on the ice! Strap on your skates, wear your 80’s or Olympic style clothing, and let’s party!
Prizes for best 80’s attire and moves on the ice!
Please note: The number of skaters on the ice at one time will be monitored to keep everyone safe! Access to ice will be first come, first served and ice time may be limited to provide everyone a chance to participate.
