Leadercast Event Comes to Calgary
CALGARY, Alberta — Several local sports organizations are teaming up to host Calgary’s first Leadercast event on May 10, 2019, at the Scotiabank Saddledome. KidSport Calgary & Area, Comrie’s Sports Equipment Bank, the Calgary Hitmen, and Sport Calgary have partnered to support leadership in the community.
Each year, Leadercast facilitates the largest one-day convergence of leaders in the world in Atlanta, Georgia, with live HD simulcasts across the world. Calgary will be hosting an event with a “Leading Healthy Teams” theme, complete with a live Leadercast simulcast and complemented with local sport and leadership executives.
“'Leading Healthy Teams' is the perfect Leadercast theme for us to begin this hosting partnership here in Calgary,” commented Kevin Webster, Executive Director, KidSport Calgary & Area. "Our partnership group is looking forward to welcoming leaders from all industries for a great day of professional development. This is also about giving back, as we work to grow our future leaders by inviting a group of high school student athletes to participate at no cost. Sport and business rely on great leaders and we look forward to joining many of them on May 10.”
“Sport Calgary’s mission is to grow sport in Calgary,” said Murray Sigler, Sport Calgary CEO. “The Leadercast event will allow corporate and sport leaders to learn leadership best practices. This event aims to build better leaders in our businesses, organizations, and communities, and inspire healthy teams.”
"This is an exciting opportunity to partner with great organizations such as KidSport, Sport Calgary and the Calgary Hitmen to help promote the importance of great leadership and its link to success,” continued Jeff Shepherd, Executive Director at Comrie’s Sports Equipment Bank. “Leadercast is a tremendous opportunity for all organizations to gain access to different insights from global leadership experts. Success starts at the top, but having a healthy team environment is essential, in sport and business. This event will be a memorable day to network, learn, share and add value to your own teams.”
