Salimah Janmohamed
DIRECTOR
Salimah is a barrister & solicitor with extensive corporate and banking law experience gained from working at an international law firm in Calgary. Building on her big firm corporate and banking law experience and with her passion for dispute resolution, she founded SFJ Law, a full-service law firm, with a view of providing value-added quality services to her clientele.
Salimah is a graduate of the University of Calgary's faculty of law where she was awarded the Campbell McLaurin Achievement Award as well as the Alberta Provincial Judges Award of Merit in 2004. Salimah is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and a fellow of the American College of Investment Counsel. An avid proponent of environmental stewardship and society's role in taking responsibility for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Salimah recently completed her thesis based Master of Laws program at the University of Calgary focusing on Alberta’s carbon offset market.
Salimah’s community involvement exemplifies an ethic that is dear and near to her heart ̶ the ethic of community service. Salimah volunteers with many legal, educational and community institutions. Of note, she sat on the board of directors of Mount Royal University Foundation from 2010 to 2016. She also completed a three year term as the legal member with the Ismaili Council for the Prairies from 2009 to 2012. She also volunteers as a resource lawyer with Student Legal Assistance and with her local community.
