Tanis Ursulak
External Affairs Manager
Tanis has spent most of her career in business relations in the healthcare sector. She has more than 15 years of experience working on the business side of the healthcare industry as a community relations and member engagement professional. She has a strong work ethic, and professional demeanor and strives to be of value to the organization. She has experience with project planning, continuous improvement, and problem-solving. Tanis was born and raised in Edmonton and has an Honours Marketing Diploma from N.A.I.T and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta.
In the past, Tanis has been involved in sports most of her life playing softball, basketball, soccer, curling, golf, and dance. She also has been extensively involved and a volunteer in her children’s sports including hockey, ringette, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, baseball, swimming, golf, and dance.
Tanis believes that kids should try multiple sports to be a well-rounded athlete. She also believes that sport is a great outlet or a distraction for kids who face challenges, as well as help their mental, physical, and social health. Sport can also be an escape from technology and a way to be unplugged. Tanis feels that participation in sports fosters lifetime relationships, builds character, and can provide opportunities like scholarships. Working at Sport Calgary will allow Tanis to help promote sports opportunities for all kids, from all walks of life, in Calgary.
When not working, Tanis enjoys hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, golf, yoga, working out at the gym, camping, walking her dog, watching her kid’s sports, and spending time with friends and family. Tanis is excited to be Manager of External Affairs for Sport Calgary, to build new relationships, and to be an advocate for sport in Calgary.
