ARPA is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year and is excited to host this Conference in both Virtual and In-Person Conference formats. 

This year’s Conference theme is CommUNITY.  This theme speaks not only to the essential role that recreation and parks play in each of our municipalities but also to the desire and need to develop a strong community for the recreation and parks sector. The recreation and parks sector in Alberta, especially at the commUNITY level, has been deeply affected by both the pandemic and the decline of the oil and gas economy over the past 18 months. These impacts have made it difficult for recreation and parks to fulfill its greatest benefits and to play the commUNITY connector role we look so forward to providing.
