On Sunday, April 30, join hundreds of Calgarians at the McHugh Bluff stairs in Crescent Heights as they take on the challenge!
Sport For Life Webinar: Building a strategy for long-term volunteer capacity in sport (FREE)
This hands-on workshop will explore what sport organizations are currently doing to support volunteer recruitment and retention, the problems or challenges they face, and potential opportunities or solutions to build long-term volunteer capacity. During the session, experts and thought leaders will share evidence- and experience-based strategies for enhancing volunteer recruitment and retention in sport and other non-profit sectors.

One of the eight key factors underlying Long-Term Development in sport and physical activity for organizations is Appropriate Specialization.
This factor recommends that, except in early specialization sports, athletes should not over-specialize until their early teens. Before then, they should participate in a wide range of sports and activities to build a high level of physical literacy and well-rounded sport skills
Creating Inclusive Policies for Sport Organizations
The Workshop on Creating Inclusive Policies for Sport Organizations is organized by Action for Healthy Communities (AHC). AHC is a dynamic, community-based agency for people of all ages and backgrounds and provides settlement and capacity-building services to improve their lives and communities through a unique community-building process, including support, mentoring, and training. AHC supports underserved and marginalized communities in Edmonton and small centers across Alberta toward the creation of an inclusive society and addresses the barriers for the equity deserve groups to fully participate in society.
Let's Talk Hockey 2022!
After two years of virtual events, Let’s Talk Hockey is finally back in person and in a new venue; the Saddledome! Join our hosts Craig Conroy and Rob Kerr as they interview special guests from across the Flames organization in a fun and relaxed environment. This is a unique chance to hear from Flames players and coaching staff as they share stories from behind the scenes and talk about the season ahead. This year we are excited to welcome Nazem Kadri, Chris Tanev, and Noah Hanifin as our special guests! The evening will feature great food, prizes, a silent auction, WestJet raffle, and hockey card trading (a fan favourite), so come prepared for an exciting night in support of a great cause. All money raised will go directly to The PREP Society to provide therapeutic and educational support to children with Down syndrome so they can live active and included lives in their communities. We hope you can join us!
