Sport Calgary Congratulates Scott Hutcheson on Selection as Chair of 2026 Bid Corporation

CALGARY, Alberta — Sport Calgary congratulates Scott Hutcheson on being named Chair of Calgary’s bid corporation for the 2026 Olympic Games.

“Sport Calgary is pleased to see the selection of a talented local leader for this important position,” said Murray Sigler, CEO. “Mr. Hutcheson brings extensive knowledge of Calgary’s sport community through his work with WinSport and Winterstart.”

“A Calgary 2026 bid would face unique challenges and opportunities, and therefore it is important that any potential bid is broadly supported by informed Calgarians,” continued Mr. Sigler. “Sport Calgary has been supportive of the bid exploration process to date and the City of Calgary’s commitment to public engagement.”

As an independent voice for sport in Calgary, Sport Calgary looks forward to supporting these public engagement efforts that will occur in the coming months.
