As we recently celebrated a tremendous year of accomplishments for Sport Calgary in the community, we also had to say goodbye to some of the people who helped us achieve all that we have. This includes Board Chair Mary Moran, whose term comes to a close, along with board member Al Price. Thank you both for your passion and dedication to connecting Calgarians through the power of sport, while advancing sport and play in the city.

We now look towards the future where Sport Calgary is squarely focused on supporting our members in introducing more Calgarians to the wonderful world of benefits that sport offers. To help us achieve our goals, we welcome Sheila Taylor and Jason Ribeiro to their new positions on the Board of Directors. Congratulations to Sheila who will play a key role in leading Sport Calgary’s promising future as our new Chair. We also welcome Jason onto the Board, who was previously a standing committee member.

As a token of our appreciation, Mary and Al were each presented with a very special sport painting (above) to help commemorate their time with us. These paintings were done by artist Samantha Wojciechowicz. Samantha likes to paint people using sports equipment as a paintbrush, and has a physical disability called ectrodactyly - she's always told herself to push her limits and see what she can do - thank you to Samantha as well for these amazing works!
