Water Main Break Update: Posted June 13th at 7PM

The critical water main break from June 5 continues to impact water availability in our city. This has resulted in the temporary closure of pools and city-operated arenas with ice.

Based on the information provided by the
City of Calgary Newsroom  and our participating locations, the following aquatic and ice-based sessions have been cancelled for this Saturday:

  • Diving and Floatables at MNP Community & Sport Centre

  • Swimming and Water Polo at Westside Rec Centre

  • Learn to Skate at Southland Leisure Centre

  • Sledge Hockey at Southland Leisure Centre

  • Speed Skating at Southland Leisure Centre

  • Learn to Swim at VIVO for Healthier Generations

  • Swim to Survive at Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton

  • Swim to Survive at Saddletowne YMCA

Kayaking at MNP Community & Sport Centre has been relocated to the Glenmore Reservoir. If you are registered for this sport, you will receive updated location information later this week. We recognize this location change may impact your other registrations. If you now have conflicting registrations, or if you want to cancel your kayaking spot, please email us at events@sportcalgary.ca or follow the instructions to cancel.

The ice-based activities at Trico Centre for Family Wellness (Ringette, Curling, and Broomball) are planned to proceed as indoor water-use restrictions remain voluntary at this time.

Sport Calgary plans to proceed with all land-based activities on Saturday, June 15.

We will welcome drop-ins on the day of the event, at any participating locations and we will do our utmost to accommodate and find a spot for children to try a new sport.

Registration Guidelines

*Registration is now closed*

  1. Only register for sessions you actually plan to attend! Please don’t overbook many options and then cancel later.

  2. There are 4 time slots. Your child can try something different in each slot if they stay at the same location.

  3. A Showpass account is required to register online (you can use your Facebook as a log-in). This will allow you to cancel or adjust your registrations, as well as easily see everything you have signed-up for.

  4. Sessions may fill up within minutes. We reserve the right to cancel any registrations where we notice a schedule conflict. For example:

    • A child is registered more than once for the same sport

    • A child is registered in 2 different sessions at the same time

    • A child is registered for back-to-back sessions at two different locations.

  5. By registering, you agree to the terms & conditions in Sport Calgary’s Participant Waiver

  6. Arrive on-time, at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrivals disrupt the coaches and other participants. If you have not checked-in 5 minutes prior to the start time, your space will be given to someone on the waitlist.

  7. If your desired sport is full, drop-ins are welcome on All Sport One Day if the sport has capacity remaining.

  8. Parent/guardian must stay onsite throughout the event.

Cancellation Instructions

Login to your Showpass account and go to 'orders'. Find the order you wish to cancel, click 'order options', and then click 'return free order' to cancel your registration. You can also email your details to events@sportcalgary.ca and we can cancel them manually.
